Thailand has no rules, only suggestions

I have come to realize that thailand really has no rules.  Our roommate Maria came to the conclusion that there are only suggestions for people to follow

view of the city from our balcony
I have completly fallen in love with this city.  We have only been around Bangkok, but I know the rest of Thailand is going to be amazing as well.  There is always something to see and do.  When you walk outside our hotel in the morning there are complety different street carts and people, then when you go out at night.  We eat fried bananas in the morning, but by afternoon the banana lady is gone and replacing her is an amazing curry cart! I dont think that I will ever get tired of eating the food here.  Every dish is always a little different where ever you go.
One of our favorite places to go!! Thanks Maria for finding it!!!!!

Many things have happened since I last blogged.... my bad I just cant sit still for 30 mins to write it because either the pool is calling my name (yes we go to the pool at least twice a day here)... sometimes 3 haha or I just have to be outside exploring our new home!
Our daily routine
OUR POOL!!!!!!!!!!

Classes have started... I have to wear my uniform for 6 hours on monday!!! But the good news is that Dani and I only have class for 3 hours on tuesday and wednesday... AND THEN WE ARE DONE!!!!! No school on thursday, friday, saturday or sunday!!!!!!! It is super exciting cause now we have so much time on the weekend for traveling!!! Ah I cant wait!!!

New roommates and Taxi boat

We finally got our other 2 roommates!! Their names are Lizette van Bergen and she is from the Netherlands, and Maria Assel from Germany.  They are both awesome and we all hit it off right from the start! Today we went and got breakfast from a street cart... by the way the cheaper the food here usually, the better it is!!! We went shopping for a little and now came home to get ready for our first day of school!!!
This is Maria

On the back of a Tuk Tuk
Lizette!

Here in Thailand every time you see someone you say "sawasdee ka" or "krup" if you are a boy, it pretty much means hello how are you.   But when you say it you bring your hands together and kinda do a bow thing.  Well I love saying hi to everyone already so now that I get to say something fun is even better!! Today we walked by a McDonalds and I finally had to take a picture... even Ronald McDonald does it.... At every McDonalds they have a Ronald McDonald there, and back at home I have not seen the statue at any since I was a little kid.
hehe
We took a river taxi today when we went shopping and the water on the "river" was BLACK!!!!! It was horrible with trash floating it in.  It smelled really bad but to get anywhere one trip was only 10 baht! which is oh like 30 cents!! It was cheaper then taking a cab, but like half a dollar but it was fun for the experience.
Waiting for the River Taxi
The water is as black as it looks!!
Well time to get ready for school!!! Putting on our super flattering school uniforms.. I promise a pic will come soon!! Miss everyone!

Evergreen place!

Hello sorry I have not updated my blog in a little... we have been busy moving all over the place.  Yesterday Dani and I finally got to move into our new place!!! I love it!!! The people who work here are so nice and we have access to their pool!!! Its perfect for all the hot days here.  All the other international students are starting to move in and it is super exciting to get to know them and find out all the places they are from.  Sorry but this is going to have to be a short one!

Dani and I got the rest of our school uniforms so I will put pictures of our place and everything soon!! Tonight we are meeting up with my cousin and her other ASU friends that are here... yeah there is a group of ASU students so it is cool to have so many american friends to hang out with and show us around since they have been here for a few months.  So time to get some dank thai lunch and go out!!!!!

Weekend in Bangkok

Bangkok just keeps getting better and better!!!!! So after our long trip here we finally got settled and used to the time change, we.  So on saturday Mook picked us up from our hotel and took us to Platinum! Which has the most amazing clothes... but they are all just one size... super small... so a lot of stuff does not fit our "american" bodies haha.  After shopping she took us by our school, Chulalongkorn University!!! It is an amazing school.  We are part of the BBA program, the business program.

After shopping Mook drove us to my cousins house, Taryn!!!! She is living here in bangkok and working for a fashion company!!! It is so awesome and comforting having a family member here!! Her and her boyfriend Collin were nice enough to let us crash at their really nice condo saturday night since me and Dani didnt have a place to stay.  They took us out to a tourist place called Koh San Road.  It was sooo cool. It is kinda just like a random ally with bars, vendors, and people offering you tickets to a "ping pong" show... its not the game.  But we are definitely going back there cause it was soo awesome!!!

Night Time
I stole this from google but this is day time so everyone can see it!
Noodles sold every ten feet!!!
My cousin Taryn with us!!!!!!

At the weekend market!
After a thai beer we went back to their condo and all slept till noon!!!! Well dani and I woke up at 6:30am wide awake, so we went swimming in their pool, showered and went back to bed falling asleep around 8:30am.  It was awesome being able to fall back asleep! Once we were all up they took us to the outdoor market.  Imagine the portland saturday market... only on 27 acres!!!! And lots and lost of shopping!!!!!!!! It was crazy we were there for 4 hours and only made it to a tiny section! I got a pair of fake ray bans but the fake stuff here is the most real fake stuff i have ever seen!!!! It is awesome! I got a floor length skirt to wear when we go to temples (cause you have to be covered up) and a fedora, never thought i would own one but hats are nice for the sun!
